About Me
Rocío Almanza Guillén is an Emmy-nominated bilingual strategist and creative in the children's media industry. Her more than 20 years of experience include product management, production, creativity, and strategy for educational and non-profit organizations such as Fred Rogers Productions, the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop, Once TV México, and Discovery Kids México.
Rocío is the Founder and Principal of Buenas Causes, a creative studio offering creative services to mission-oriented organizations.
Rocío is passionate about representation and diversity in media. She has conducted in-depth studies and collaborated on programs for girls, such as Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, STEMblazers (formerly Girls in STEM), and TECHNOLOchicas. She is also on a mission to ensure that Spanish-speaking audiences in the US are provided with the high-quality content they deserve, reflecting and magnifying the diversity of creators and the nuances of language.
Rocío holds a Master’s Degree in Digital Media Design for Learning from New York University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Journalism from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and a specialization in Social Education from Universidad de Sevilla.
